2015 - 3-1 to 3-31 - Still veggin in Summerland

It's March already!!??
The really good thing about this month is that Daylight Savings begins on the 8th
YAHOO!!
Same ole, same ole but still enjoying the peace. The wind continued; had a few rain showers that cleaned the boat - well, somewhat; but the temperatures were perfect.  Another wonderful 'dinner & a movie' on LARGO. I got to see the hilarious "My Cousin Vinny" (again) & Wayne begged to see "Nine & a Half Weeks".

Wayne worked on the inverters - again. He decided that one of them wasn't inverting properly - wasn't charging the batteries enough & took a long time to do so. So, he removed it which required many days of re-wiring. He also thought it was 'overkill' to have two inverters. (ya think? this whole boat is overkill) Then he thought more about it, (this is when it gets scary- the thinking part I mean) He thought, "I can use it as a dedicated battery charger." So out came the stored inverter & put back where it used to be. This, of course, required a massive re-wiring operation which took many days to do & all I saw of him was his sweaty back in the engine room.
At the same time, the wind died a bit so I was able to put a 4th coat of Cetol on the forward rails.
The dentist saga continued on the 16th. I thought the 1st appointment was going to be traumatic with all that grinding & pulling but it wasn't thanks to Chris, Paula & his entire staff. I strolled into the office with my head held high & renewed faith in dentistry. No fear - after all, what could possibly be horrible about taking impressions for the lab? (A back story & foot-note: I have a post-nasal drip usually worse in the morning & a hyper-hyper gag reflex.) The office staff knows this as they need at least 2 people to get basic dental x-rays - one to hold the damn thing in my mouth & another to push the button. SO...they also know I require a full disclosure about what's about to happen. They did a great job explaining how they would get the impressions. They showed me the device (the smallest they have) that will hold the goop to take the impression & the goop they put on the device. "See, it's not runny-nothing will drip down your throat" No problem, I said...it goes up top & out front - nothing in the back of my mouth. I was incredibly relaxed - wiggling my toes & calmly breathing through my nose...until the device was placed in my mouth. Holy shit - WTF! - all hell broke out. I sat straight up in the chair; forget wiggling the toes - I was swinging my right leg as hard as I could; all thoughts of calmly breathing through my nose disappeared. Everyone ran into the room to help including Wayne who was in the waiting room & responded to the commotion. A large emesis basin was placed under my chin. Paper towels & tissues were placed everywhere & during all this confusion, Paula desperately held onto the device until it was 'set'. I was in total disarray & humiliated that my bodily excretions were draining from nose & mouth. However, I didn't care. Thankfully, no pictures. While I was cleaning up & tried to regain my composure, Paula returned to the room to say she got a good impression...YIPPEE!
Redeeming grace for the day, Dancing with the Stars starts tonight.
Jay & Karen took a short trip around the channel to take a few pictures. This is my favorite one of the paddle wheel.

It's beginning to look a lot like summer. Hot-Hot-Hot - 80's-90's but a gentle wind prevails which is perfect to put a first & second coat of gloss on the forward rails.

3/22 - LARGO had engine work to be done so they secured a dock in the new Stock Island Village Marina. Wayne went with them as a 'back up' for Karen. Not necessary as she's become a great captain, but it made her feel more secure.
LARGO going through Niles Channel bridge

I stayed on BLUE MAX until they arrived at the marina. I fed the pups, took the dinghy to shore & drove to the marina to pick up Wayne. Yea! another great 'small plates' dinner at KW Harbor.

3/25 Scupper's 9th birthday.
The rest of the month was fairly uneventful until I got a call from Dr. Golden's office (the dreaded dentist office). I could visualize  the staff drawing straws to see who would call me with the news that I had to return to get a better impression of the lower teeth. No way - nope, I'm not doing it - no way - are you kidding me?? Most of the staff had to gather around the phone to answer my many questions. "So, what's involved in this procedure?... How long will it take?" They assured me it would only take about 5 minutes (yea, right!) & they use a very small device with that goop & put it only on my bottom teeth. (sure, I heard that one before) Actually, when I thought about it, it was my fault that the bottom impression didn't 'take' as I was so desperate to keep my mouth still when wrenching my guts up. OK, I give in. Paula met me as I entered the office - we hugged. She was right, it took 5 minutes & no gagging. As a reward, we had dinner at the Wharf with Jay & Karen.
The month ended on a good note. Great weather - warm sun, wind down & cool breezes. Life is good.
Ahhhhhh..(Wayne's selfie)
